Dear Classical Wisdom Reader,
I don't know if it happens to you, but it definitely happens to me.
You see, both Father's Day and Mother's Day take place on different days in different parts of the world. I've often seen e-mails and comments online reminding me about either of them, only to react with confusion (and sometimes panic)... surely that's not happening for months!
So, with that disclaimer out of the way, it IS Father's Day here in Ireland. If it is where you are too, I hope you're able to have a good one!
This week at Classical Wisdom, we celebrated James Joyce's Bloomsday with an article (by yours truly) that looks at how Joyce was influenced by the Classics, and how his novel Ulysses retells the Odyssey. It also looks at the theme of fatherhood in the novel, making it appropriate reading for today!
If you're interested in hearing more about James Joyce and the Classics, I'll be talking all about them as part of our next LIVE Members-Only Roundtable Discussion, on Thursday June 29th at Noon EST.
You can register for that HERE. I hope to see you there!
We also looked at one of the most influential yet overlooked aspects of antiquity: Jewish history and philosophy. Members can read our exclusive article on the radical philosophy of Philo of Alexandria, and read an edition of our magazine, Classical Wisdom Litterae, dedicated to Jewish history.
Check it all out, plus the rest of the week's resources, just below...

That’s it for this week!
