For the stories of the goddess Isis, I've seen a similar tale to Demeter and Demophoon wherein Isis allows the child of the king of Byblos to nurse from her fingers by day and then works to make him immortal by night with the same ending where the blessing is ended because of the queen mother discovering the act. Do we know which of these myths came first and if so, which way they cross pollinated each other?

It's all about an ethnobiological belief in the reproductive power of the phallus which had drawn in young unmarried virgins to sexual intercourse in the hope of sucking in the sacred blood of the God which eventually makes the new born baby as the most divine high rank of all. This belief is well alive with the Tongan sovereign rule. I am currently writing on it as a reviewed book on the Tongan history.
