Marvelous commentary. Using reason to overcome our animal instincts, & inflamed emotionalism ,
is the essence of civilization. Sometimes ,in our modern media landscape, I feel oddly out of place ,

Those Cretans and their frighteningly silly bull cults and building practices. When I visited Basque country in Spain many years back, the bullfighting there reminded me of Crete and this legend.
