They’ll only get updated if the copyright is controlled by a publishing giant that is very very concerned with upholding its reputation and profits.
Censoring books is pretty awful. Hows about we don’t buy the ones we don’t want? Seems a fair compromise.
The past and current "updating" crazes are nonsense. Leave the works in their original form. The offended should simply not read them.
