That was interesting. I see parallels with some of the Australian Anoriginal myths about creation and life which often contain moral beliefs.
I agree with those who say it is language which has enabled homo sapiens to rise above other human species such as Neanderthals and use language to link people together in larger groups, resulting in towns, cities and nations.
Fear technology? No. Use all deliberate caution. However, it seems our culture refuses to do that. There's no telling what will happen except that it likely will be a surprise not predicted by anyone.
Like many things - a healthy dose of moderation should be used, both in use and methods of use. Certainly when we become too reliant on it, we become more 'fragile' - and that's not even getting into the difficulties and complications of things like social media!
I chuckle a bit at the technophiles like Ray Kurzwile. So many think they can predict the future of technological events, but so few come close to the mark. I include myself in that, but I don't take my ruminations seriously. After all, how many could imagine where the airplane, radio, or electricity would take us when they were first discovered/invented?
All any of us can be certain of is that there may be huge benefits to new and accelerating technology. Or huge drawbacks. Or both.
There is no question that governments worldwide are using technology against the interests of their own citizens in first, second and even third world countries. One World government or any concept of a New World Order would not be possible without advanced technology and a Government-Big Tech complex to implement its goals and weaponize technological advances for control of the masses.
Your Government-Big Tech is the red-headed step child (Prometheus/Frankenstein) of the Government-Military Industrial Complex (Zeus/Mary Shelley's Victor von Frankenstein). Provocative expressions of fear, fear of the unknownable tomorrow a persistence in the back of our mind. Fear not tomorrow lest it never comes for today's fears are real.
We should be afraid of technology insofar as we are untethered from our own internal identities, and more specifically our values and relationships. Users who are lonelier and more impressionable are at risk for the most serious harm from any new tech.

Prometheus is an example of that language.

One of the reasons I like living somewhere that's usually very inefficient!

Very good point. Perhaps one of the best ways to combat the ill use of it is by trying to work on establishing values, virtues and communities.
Here's an interesting technology piece on the Australian Army's adoption of autonomous weapons using AI, which raises some interesting questions.
There definitely needs to be regulations about how AI is used in war. The problem is dictators like Putin would ignore the rules.

Horrifying!!! And you can only imagine what technology can do if someone/some govt wants to take out a specific group...
