I had already read a few pages of Ulysses at the time but didn't quite get it until another attempt a few years later. When it finally clicked I became obsessed with Joyce and his philosophy as a writer. It has led me to constant investigations into his work and their significance in the English literary canon. Fascinating man, and a true pioneer.
Who knew? Joyce's novel is the ancient modern tale for the ages. Is Donald Trump the Cyclops of self absorption? Good work with this retelling. For the first time, I actually have some interest in Joyce.
