Absolutely fascinating. In some ways, she reminds me of Boudica. Where most people won by feats of strength, she won by guile. I think I'll have to add Herodotus to my library.

Excellent idea! Herodotus has some strange stories... but he is constantly being vindicated!

A remarkable and impressive piece writing that took me on a mind blowing voyage to a -for me so far -unknown historical part of ancient civilizations. Marvelous and very enlighting.

I am grateful for that and just keep doing the good job.Be blessed

Realistic history being far more accurate, adventurous and lustful than Hollywood writers could ever, in their dope filled rooms, dream. Thanks

We certainly could do with more Historical movies!!! I always think that about Agnodice and Aspasia as well.

That was fascinating and makes me wish I had grown up with a classical education.

I'm working on it. Have stacks of books I'm going through. You'll like hearing I have a friend, a Bowdoin alumna, help me out years ago. I have enough intelligence to realize the importance of classics study so when we had some extra $, my husband and I donated to the Bowdoin classics department (and the debate team). It felt very good to be able to do that.
