Anyone who damages a product of past history should be called to bear whatever punishment is given. If one wipes out the thoughts and actions of history is destined to make the same mistakes or advances again and history will not advance in a worthwhile order.

If one simply erases all the people from the past who did things that were harmful or hurtful (or at least are viewed through the prism of changing times as being thus), however will current and future generations recognize a pitfall and be on their guard to stop it from flowering? Or maybe come to acknowledge we can be wrong in the present?

Erasing the past is dangerously foolish, in my opinion.

We also often forget history is written by the victors. Just because they won doesn’t necessarily mean they were the good guys.
