Do you think that podcasters and influencers, who employ means other than verse, are the poets of our era? Will their shallow dives and sound-bite thoughts be regarded as marvelous decades hence? What lasting ideals are being propagated today - digital legacies?

It was a good read...

And a little short...but It does teach a lot...it heavily emphasizes that anyone with power dictates..how history is written.

It is difficult

to get the news from poems

yet men die miserably every day

for lack

of what is found there.

I found it fascinating how poetry and power intertwine in the age of Augustus. Beyond the debate over whether it was propaganda or genuine admiration, what’s clear is the lasting impact that this “golden age” had on Western literature. The figure of the poet as a voice of the regime—whether by choice or not—remains a very relevant topic today. Thank you for such a well-crafted perspective.
