Okay, two of my favorite sources of wisdom and entertainment combined - like salted caramel: Star Wars and Stoicism. Exceptional work. It makes me wonder why integrity is never really addressed directly. It’s definitely present, but mostly implied rather than spoken.
…and absolutely nothing can be learned from the Disney era of Star Wars.
Excellent analysis here on Stoicism versus The Force. One key distinction in the movies, which I didn't think was very Stoic at all, is that the Jedi shun love & marriage; this fundamentally extreme position is what Anakin resisted (rightly so, in my opinion) and it seems the Jedi downfall was inevitable by being incredibly rigid on love & marriage. Frankly, it is kind of creepy for an organization/religion to reject marriage & natural-sustainable procreation, yet go around the galaxy to take others' children for recruitment… so, after all, I'm with Anakin! Ha-ha!
